Yiran
Data Analyst · Melbourne · Monash Business Analytics
My path to data wasn’t a straight line, and I think that’s what makes it interesting. I started in hotel management, spending two years on the floor learning how to read people, manage chaos, and deliver under pressure. That grounded me in something a lot of analysts lack: real operational intuition.
From there I moved through media sales and digital consulting, building proposals for global brands and learning how businesses actually make decisions. Along the way I picked up Monash Business Analytics, not as a career pivot, but as a way to make the curiosity I’d always had more rigorous and technical.
Now I work end-to-end with data, from wrangling messy datasets to delivering insights and recommendations that actually land with people. Python, R, SQL, and Power BI are my tools. Curiosity, communication, and a slightly unhealthy love of documentation are everything else.
